The Unveiling of Two New SDLC Curriculums: Data Analysis & Business Writing

Written by Amy Wainwright on June 26th, 2012

Drumroll please… ASPE-SDLC is proud to unveil our newest curriculums: Data Analysis and Business Writing! So far, 2012 has been a very busy year at ASPE. The introduction of our two new SDLC curriculums will allow students to maximize their amount of knowledge and skills to an even greater extent.

One of the most extreme challenges in Business Analysis today is finding and using the vital information contained within data. For those who do have a strategy in place, there are still inefficiencies that can prevent concrete corporate intelligence from emerging.  ASPE-SDLC’s new Data Analysis training courses will allow you to effectively manage your data and translate the information into real-world strategies that can give you a competitive edge.  The curriculum includes the following:

Data Analysis Boot Camp addresses the knowledge and skills essential to successfully analyze data. This course will also include a series of individual and group exercises for participants to gain insight into practical application of the material. Overall, the goal of this course is for participants to gain the required knowledge of probability theory and gain skills in the basic statistical analysis techniques to analyze data to support the information needs of their business.

The Predictive Analytics & Data Mining – Model Development training course dives into the data mining process at a tactical level. Participants will observe demonstrations of machine learning methods and computer-guided analytical techniques for interpretating patterns and relationships from large amounts of data. This course is for you if you desire a tactical orientation to data mining concepts, tools, and techniques.

Project failure is rarely caused by poor model development. Data mining projects often fall short due to flawed or overlooked assessment, business understanding, project definition, and more. Predictive Analytics & Data Mining – Strategic Implementation offers a presentation of capabilities, limitations, risks, rewards, use cases, best practices, strategy, and lifecycle management.

Our new Business Writing Curriculum is brought to you by ASPE’s Alexander Hamilton Center. Our three new courses will allow you to master advanced writing skills onsite or at your own pace. The new business writing curriculum includes the following advanced writing training courses:

Technical Writing will introduce students to various technical writing concepts that will result in the ability to write clearer and more effective documents. Whether it is a user manual or a technical/engineering report, our course will help writers understand how to write a stylistically correct technical document that flows, is easy to read and use, and meets the readers’ needs for ease and information.

Our customized, online, self-paced Business Writing training course is based on the principle that effective written communication is vital for the success of today’s businesses. This course covers issues writers encounter in business writing: how to write for a particular audience, how to use language effectively, how to write emails/business letters, and editing/proofreading strategies. Breakout sessions, interactive exercises, and brief lectures are included to help participants think critically about business documents they write.

Effective scientific writing is crucial to any organization involved in relaying scientific information. Our Scientific Writing training course focuses on writing skills for lab reports, scientific articles, deviation reports, site visit reports, standard operating procedures, and more. Participants will learn to use critical thinking and practical strategies to plan, write, and revise any scientific document.
