Why Offer Certificates in these areas?
The Project Management and Business Analysis roles have become cornerstone positions in the elusive pursuit for IT / Business alignment. The Project Manager position is the glue that holds the project together, and owns the financial and scheduling aspects of project delivery. The Business Analyst is the definer of "need," ensures that "need" is of value, and then engineers that "need" into requirements and models that can be translated by IT. One-position delivers, the other position ensures what is delivered is needed.
Agile Development has become a legitimate process SDLC professionals are turning to as a means to increase the quality and relevance of what they deliver. Agile impacts all positions working on a project. It focuses on people and communication over process and tools. When done correctly the efficiency and quality gains are exceptional.
The Executive Certificate programs in Project Management (NEW), Business Analysis, and Agile Development were built to ensure the person achieving a certificate has acquired real-world skills, techniques, tools, and knowledge through attendance and active participation in five real-world hands-on courses. ASPE and Saint Louis University wanted to provide the industry with an educational tool that ensures an employee with a certificate can perform in real environments, instill best practices, and deliver results
